About me

I paint what I see, real places, locations and figures in the context of their work or their surroundings, as well as places and locations where I have been and which gave me rest and strength. Since 2020 I have been working with oil pastel acrylic on canvas, the luminosity gives the realistic scenes strength and energy.

On top of the rough acrylic sketch, I use oil pastels to work out the finer details of the motif without completely covering the background, because the background should interact with the foreground in terms of color and structure. I enjoy the craft of painting, applying the oil pastels with a bristle brush, painting knife and, above all, with a rag. This allows me to apply the color to the picture finely and sensitively and to grasp it haptically.

My pictures show the real world, on the one hand the everyday life of the medical professions and helpers and on the other hand quiet zones to recover from the stressful, overwhelming world.

When many images of self-sacrificing professional groups in protective clothing were spread through the media during the Corona period, it preoccupied me so much that I "had to" process this in my works. This is why the "Helpers" series was created.

The choice of motif may be socially critical, disturbing and upsetting for others, but for me it is also fascinating and beautiful.

With dedication to the material and color, painting is a way for me to process emotional stress and focus on myself and my feelings. This gives me energy and time to relax and calm down.

Painting and drawing have been with me since childhood. Despite my early talent, my family could not afford to encourage me to study art, so I have been self-taught and taking art courses for years.

But now I am in the fortunate position of being able to study art with Prof. Markus Lüperz and am looking forward to a profound and intensive study in the art of drawing and painting.
